San Diego Chapter
The San Diego Chapter is the local chapter of the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) West Coast Section. This Chapter includes the City of San Diego and unincorporated areas of San Diego County, a region that extends from the Mexico-U.S. border to North County and from the Pacific Ocean to the Anza-Borrego Desert.
A&WMA is a non-profit, nonpartisan technical, scientific, and educational organization with more than 5,000 members from 65 Chapters around the world. Founded in 1907, A&WMA provides a collaborative and inclusive forum where environmental issues can be examined and discussed, its members considering a broad range of perspectives (technical, scientific, academic, economic, social, political). This worldwide network represents many disciplines: engineering, physical and social sciences, health and medicine, technological innovation, and law. A&WMA attracts decision-makers from industry, consulting, business, governmental regulatory agencies, academic and private research laboratories, and local communities.
By hosting a variety of conferences, workshops, webinars, and social gatherings for its members, A&WMA provides opportunities for sharing information, learning about the latest technological and regulatory developments, networking, professional growth and training, public education, and the thoughtful discussion of current environmental trends and topics in a neutral forum. Through these efforts, A&WMA remains the recognized global leader in fostering the exchange of environmental knowledge, ideas, and solutions.
